EDUCATIONAL AND VOCATIONAL TRAINING

The initial programs that have been developed in this category are the Computer Program and Radio Broadcasting and Training. Others will be included after researching the skills needed in the community. All the projects have their own training component.

COMPUTER PROGRAM

This program includes IT training and up-grading, computer training, and detail IT/Computer program courses.

The objective is to raise the computer skills and competence of identified clients and also keep the youth constructively busy to avoid getting involved in detrimental lifestyles.

LDI offers training, pro bono to its clients and fee-attached training to the public. IT and computer skills provide students with the competencies and skills required in today’s labour market.  Internet facilities and cyber cafes are a fee for service, and are primarily run by the clients.  Programs available through our computer lab are:

In all program areas Livelihood Development International work with other enterprises to facilitate access to employment on completion of the program.

CONCLUSION

The computer program envisioned by Livelihood Development International for the marginalized, destitute, homeless, youth and adults provide training, education and skills to become contributing members of the community thereby filling the participants with dignity and hope.
